The Thwaites Glacier in an isolated part of Antarctica has the potential to cause a catastrophic rise in global sea levels. It is melting fast and accounts for four percent of the world’s annual sea level rise. The scientific community would like to monitor Thwaites in order that they can determine how quickly it is warming and how threatening it could prove to be. Sercel's MATS3G acoustic modem was used on the nupiri muka, a fully autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).

Our light and compact underwater acoustic modem, MATS LT, was recently used by Kopadia, a French company specializing in underwater inspection projects. By allowing easy integration and delivering good results in very shallow waters, MATS LT enabled Kopadia to design, in a record time, a fully integrated positioning and tracking solution for its AUV.

Conducting underwater seismic surveys can be an extremely challenging task, requiring the deployment of specialized equipment such as ocean-bottom seismometers in hostile environments, often several thousand meters beneath sea-level.

508XT extends its capabilities to marsh and transition zone seismic surveys by providing a dedicated solution for this challenging environment.

The WTU-508 is a single channel autonomous land node collecting seismic data in its internal memory with 30+ days autonomy.

Before launching an exploitation phase, an evaluation phase is necessary to locate a geothermal resource accurately and assess its geological potential.

During all the steps of windfarm installation, it's very important to define mammal population presence but also to be alerted during operation.

Offshore windfarm projects are mainly in coastal areas either on cetacean (whale, dolphin, and porpoise) migration roads or with presence of marine mammals. When construction generates acoustic noise at sea (pile driving, vessels, etc.), measures to accurately assess the abundance of cetaceans on the area and to prevent any interference with cetaceans during maritime works are necessary and sometimes required by regulators.
