Background
Sercel’s vibrator health monitoring enables customers to track key indicators such as hydraulic pressure and temperature, among others. Field personnel can monitor vital functions at the base camp, track the health of each vibrator, and take corrective actions. With an internet connection, these indicators are accessible from any location via a secure, dedicated Cloud platform.
Methodology and Results
During the initial phase of this case study, Sercel provided the Chief Mechanics with a digital tool that offered a dashboard to monitor the health of their vibrator fleet. This enabled them to gather vibrator metadata, which is crucial to foresee failures and reduce breakdown impacts. The customer’s crew deployed the first version on 10 vibrators. The Chief Mechanics provided positive feedback, utilizing health indicators to fine-tune the vibrator setup.
Additionally, the Chief Mechanic proposed new indicators for enhanced fleet monitoring, demonstrating strong customer engagement and validating the solution’s benefits.
“We have been trialing the Sercel Telemaintenance System on our crew for just about 5 months now. It has allowed us to see remotely pressure indicators and temperatures of our fleet allowing us to predict issues arising beforehand. The indicators can be evolved in newer versions to meet other companies’ requirements, which is handy.”
